For some reason this sock looks out of shape but really it fits perfectly. It is the first sock I ever knitted and the pattern was given to me by my sister Ruth. Of course it was a challenge for anyone who has never knit a sock and my attempt about 2 years ago went unfinished. That makes this a victory. Now, since I "do" have two feet I need to make another one.

It seems everyone I meet says if you make socks you will love it. I'm not sure yet. Perhaps by the time I am done with the second one I will be hooked. Not just yet.

There are numerous sock patterns out there on different knitting sites so if you are inclined to challenge yourself, just look up free sock patterns and you can find one to suit your needs. The yarn I used was because the first sock I attempted was in a plain very pretty peachy color but I found it boring to work on. Therefore this time I chose a verigated color scheme to make it more fun and indeed it was. The yarn I used is Mini Mochi. It is Machine washable blend of 80% Merino Wool and 20% Nylon, produced by Crystal Palace Yarns I used #2 double pointed needles.

I am going to start a baby sweater in between the other sock just because I have a friend who is going to have a great grandaughter and she loves lavender color so that will be my next project.

I am enjoying seeing everyone elses projects on their blogs so now I will go and check out what is new with all of you. Happy crafting.

  1. Hi Peggy! Your sock is great! Good advice to use the interesting yarn to keep it exciting. As for loving to knit socks....hmmm...I do knit socks, and it's okay but for small projects I think I prefer mittens, or hats!

I'm still waffling about the color yarn to make my version of your neat sweater (posted previously)....just so not sure....?

    love

  2. How brave of you to knit a sock. I think I shall buy my socks as poor Grandma tried and tried but knitting just wasn't my strong suit. I did learn how to crochet from her and I love doing it. Marvelous May to you...
